Description: Melissa Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the plant. It is sometimes referred to as lemon balm due to its strong lemony scent. 

Precautions: A possible sensitizer and dermal irritant.

Co-blenders: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram and Ylang-Ylang.

Perfumery Note: Middle.

The high price of Melissa is due to the fact that approximately 3 tonnes of plant material is required to yield around 0.5 litres of oil.
